Hello and welcome to a new Tag Thursday! Today I took some inspiration from one of my favorite book bloggers, The Perpetual Page-Turner and did her A to Z bookish survey. You can find her post here.
So without further ado, let’s get started!
Author you’ve read the most books from:
My top 3 in terms of numbers:
- Cassandra Clare: 10 books
- J.K. Rowling: 7 books
- Sarah J. Maas: 7 books
Best Sequel Ever:
Judging by the size of my book hangover: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
Runner-up: Prince’s Gambit by C.S. Pacat
Currently Reading:
The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
Drink of Choice While Reading:
I usually just drink still water. However, if it’s a comfort read I’d like some mint tea or hot chocolate.
E–reader or Physical Book?
Physical books all the way!
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
I don’t know about dating, but I would have had a huge crush on the nerdy musician/artist type. Simon Lewis from TMI would totally fit that description. Less nerdy, more cool: Adam from If I Stay. Also, Olly from Everything, Everything. I don’t remember if he was a musician but I seem to recall him wearing lots of black and to be honest, that was totally my type too.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Cinder by Marissa Meyer. It didn’t speak to me at all at first, but it had so many good reviews that I decided to give it a chance. And I’m glad I did, because the Lunar Chronicles became one of my favorite series.
Hidden Gem Book:
The Captive Prince trilogy. Read this, people!
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Going to be completely unoriginal here, but reading Harry Potter for the first time. It opened up a whole new world of books and reading and started pretty much everything.
Just Finished:
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. Very good and highly recommended!
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Even though I have some preferences (fantasy!), I don’t really have any kind of books I would just outright not read.
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. 896 pages, woop!
Major book hangover because of:
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. The book hangover lasted about a month.
Number of Bookcases You Own:
Three. And still not enough 😉
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
Free Fall by Joyce Sweeney. It was my favorite book as a teenager.
Preferred Place To Read:
At home on the sofa, with some fluffy pillows and a blanket.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“To be careful with people and with words was a rare and beautiful thing.”“I decided that maybe we left each other alone too much. Leaving each other alone was killing us.”
Reading Regret:
I have the memory of a goldfish and always forget half the plot of a book almost immediately after finishing it. Makes reading series really hard. Also, I love re-reading, but it feels like I never make the time for that. See the pattern here?
Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):
The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. I read The Final Empire but still need to read the rest of the series. I will soon though! They’re just a little intimidating…
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Honestly, this changes constantly, but at the moment it’s these three. Also, I’m choosing series, because I can’t choose further than that. They belong together! Only finished series though.
- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
- Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
SO MANY THINGS!
Harry Potter. Always.
Sarah J. Maas
Pretty much any book mentioned in this survey.
Spaghetti
Fall Out Boy
Gilmore Girls
The 100
And so, so much more. There’s just so much to fangirl about.
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
Empire of Storms by Sarah. J Maas. Of course.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo.
There Will Be Other Summers by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Worst Bookish Habit:
Falling asleep when I try to read anything after 10 PM.
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi.
Your latest book purchase:
The Dream Thieves, Blue Lily, Lily Blue and The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater. I read The Raven Boys a few weeks ago and was so intrigued I went out and immediately got the rest of the series for a good old binge-reading session!
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
As I said before, I usually don’t manage to stay awake while reading after a certain time so it is HIGHLY EXCEPTIONAL that I keep reading way into the night. Only one book managed to do that to me lately and that was… A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas.
Think I’ll add this to my lists of tags to do! It seems really fun.
I can’t wait to see what you think of The Dream Thieves! It’s my favourite book in The Raven Cycle series. I also finished Cinder recently and enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting too.
Great, would love to read your replies to this tag! 🙂
I’m really loving The Dream Thieves so far. I almost forgot how absolutely gorgeous Maggie Stiefvater’s writing was and how amazing these characters are, but now I’m sucked right back in. <3 Definitely binge reading the entire series now!
Ahh, yay! That makes me super happy to hear. Maggie’s writing is honestly my favourite and with each page you just become more and more attached to the characters.
