A book lover’s TBR pile never stops growing. There are just so many good books out there with so many more being released every single week and really not enough time to read them all.
BUUUT I really don’t mind! I’d rather have a huge list of books I still want to read than no books at all. With that in mind I give you a list of 10 of the most recent books I’ve added to my TBR list. Only two of these are already released though, so I’ll have to have a bit more patience to get to the rest of them (ugh, patience…)
Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda
I was very late to hop on the Hamilton train, but boy am I so very much on it by now! I’m obsessed and I can’t wait to get my hands on this gorgeous book!
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
This one sounds like so much fun. It’s a historical fantasy in which two boys roadtrip through Europe together and have to fight pirates AND their feelings for eachother along the way.
Metaltown by Kristen Simmons
Metaltown is a steampunk dystopian. I can’t say that I’ve read a lot of steampunk yet, but this book was in the October Fairyloot box and it does sound super good!
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
This book was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and sounds like such a heartwrenching but real and necessary read.
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
Honestly, the synopsis had me at pirates. Ok no, the title already had me at Pirate. This sounds like so much fun and I can’t wait!
Gilded Cage by Vic James
This fantasy dystopian set in England just sounds so dark and interesting, it immediately earned its’ spot on my TBR list!
Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
This story is a fantasy retelling featuring a Goblin King (whom I’ve already fancasted as Tom Hiddleston) and is described as romantic and sexy. Please, give it to me now!
The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich
This blurb sounds so, so good! This book sounds like a perfectly funny and original take on all these tropes and I am so here for it! I mean, this is about a spy school that trains these teens to become tropes. Their assignment is to get close to a girl and whoever doesn’t get the girl, dies. And then they end up falling for eachother instead? THIS SHIP, I AM ALREADY ON IT!
Poison’s Kiss by Breeana Shields
The idea of a teenage assassin who can kill with a kiss sounds kind of hit or miss, but I am intrigued! Also, it’s based on Indian folklore and already has some pretty good reviews so I’m in!
Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda BellezaÂ
Umm, Adam Silvera described this as Arya Stark in space. I love Adam Silvera and I love Arya Stark so I just HAVE TO give this one a try. Badass revenge in space, bring it on!
Empress of a Thousand Skies has me curious with that description! And Metaltown- I like the idea of a steampunk dystopian.
Poison’s Kiss is kind of freaky with the snake cover. 🙂
Ys, the description really had me hooked on Empress of a Thousand Skies too! I hope Metaltown will be a nice book to introduce me to the steampunk genre 🙂 And yes, the cover for Poison’s Kiss is kind of creepy, but I hope the story will be really good!
Really looking forward to read The Hate that U Give. Great list! 🙂
Thanks! I’m so looking forward to it as well 🙂
I really want to read The Hate U Give! It seems like such an important read. And Daughter of the Pirate King sounds wonderful! Great list, I hope you’ll enjoy them. 🙂
Yes, I think The Hate You Give will be super insightful and confronting but also so important. And I just can’t help it when the synopsis says pirates, it’s a buzzword for me 🙂
GAH! I am so excited for The Love Interest, Poison’s Kiss and Empress of a Thousand Skies!
Great selection of books on your TBR pile, by the way.

I need to grab a copy of Hamiltome omg. And I’m so excited for The Hate U Give!
Oh, I haven’t read My Lady Jane yet, but it’s on my TBR! I’ve heard so many good things about it 🙂
I have the other Hamilton book on my list, but I desperately want to own the one on yours! I recently read and reviewed the ARC of Gilded Cage. Great list!

I totally understand how it can be on your most anticipated list, I’m really looking forward to it as well 🙂
Metaltown and Daughter of the Pirate King are on my TBR too. The Love Interest has a nice cover and the premise sounds hilarious. I’m going to find out more about it 🙂
The Love Interest does sound super hilarious, I love a book that can make a little fun of itself 🙂 Plus Becky Albertalli said she loved it! I just really hope it will live up to my expectations 🙂
I really am looking forward to Wintersong. I absolutely love Labyrinth. I love the cover of the Daught of the Pirate King.

Yes, I think Wintersong is one of my most anticipated reads of this list! Hope we’ll both enjoy it 🙂
Same with Gilded Cage! I love the Empress of a Thousand Skies and Wintersong’s covers so much, and even though I’d seen The Love Interest around I didn’t know what it was about until now, sounds so good!
I am super excited about The Love Interest 🙂 And yes, those covers do look gorgeous!
I have seen the Hate U Give around a lot today and I need it check it out!!! Hope you get to all of these and enjoy!
Thanks! And I also saw a lot of The Hate U Give, I think it’s one of the top anticipated reads for next year.
Several of these are on my TBR as well. I’m especially excited for Gilded Cage and Empress of a Thousand Skies. They both sound like they’re going to be great reads 🙂
They do sound great 🙂 I’m already excited and they are still months away from being released…
I’ve seen The Hate U Give popping up on a lot of TBR lists this week, I am really looking forward to this one.
Me too! I think it’s one of the most anticipated reads for 2017!
Daughter of The Pirate King sounds awesome!
It does! But then again, I don’t think you can go wrong with pirates 😉
So The Gentleman’s Guide to Vices and Virtue is everything I ever could have wanted and more in a book and reading this just got my so excited to read it… and then to find out it’s not coming out until JUNE?? Guess we lie in wait together.
I know, June is still SO FAR AWAY! I wish I hadn’t discovered it yet because it will be a long wait…
I am super excited for Wintersong! the cover is gorgeous. METALTOWN BY KRISTEN SIMMONS I heard is really good. Been a while since I read steampunk
Yes, the cover for Wintersong is absolutely gorgeous <3 And I haven't read any stempunk yet, so I'm super curious about Metaltown.
I’m so excited for The Love Interest! Gentleman’s Guide and The Hate U Give are both on my TBR too. I got the Hamiltome last month and I’m so in love with it. I hope you can get a copy soon!! I just added Empress of a Thousand Skies to my TBR, it sounds super interesting!!
They all sound so great, I’m just sorry they will not yet be released for a few months… That’s so cool that you’ve got the Hamiltome! I added it to my Christmas wishlist so fingers crossed 😉
Empress of a Thousand Skies looks really interesting. Really curious about The Gentleman’s Guide and The Gilded Cae as well. 😀
I am super excited about them as well, just sorry they won’t be released for another few months 🙂
