Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we are looking ahead at some of the many, many amazing new 2018 releases that will make our TBR grow and our book-loving hearts burst with excitement (and ok, maybe a little stress, luckily I was able to lower my stress levels with cardarine). I’m already looking forward to taking a look at everybody else’s lists and making my TBR explode but in the meantime, here’s my list:
~~Sequels for stories I already love~~
A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes #3) by Sabaa Tahir
This may be my most anticipated read of all. I love the Ember in the Ashes series and I can’t wait to reunite with Elias and Laia.
Restore Me (Shatter Me #4) by Tahereh Mafi
I’m both excited and extremely nervous about the fact that this series is continuing.
War Storm (Red Queen #4) by Victoria Aveyard
Though I wasn’t that fond of some things about the second and third book in this series, I’m still so eager to find out how it all ends.
Immortal Reign (Falling KIngdoms #6) by Morgan Rhodes
My favorite guilty pleasure series, I need more Cleo and Magnus now. And Felix. Felix is good too.
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
Ok, it’s not technically a sequel, but it also kind of is? Anyway, I just want to be reunited with these characters and find out Leah’s story.
Queen of Air and Darkness by (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare
OK, I know I haven’t even read Lord of Shadows yet, but that does not mean I still can’t be super excited for this one!
~~New stories that sound amazing~~
The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green
One, it’s a new series by Sally Green and I loved her Half Bad series. Two, it seems like it’ll feature my favorite trope: a group of misfits randomly coming together and working together. Three, I kind of get Six of Crows vibes from the synopsis and that means it’s a must.
Everless by Sara Holland
I love the idea of time as a currency. Plus, this seems like it’ll have a great slow-burn hate-to-love romance which is one of my favorites.
Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett
One word: DRAGONS! Also, childhood best friends turned enemies turned reluctant partners? Yes, please!
Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre
A pretty cover, a sentient space ship and some The 100 vibes? I don’t even know, I just know I want to read this.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
This has had some rave reviews already and I have a feeling it’ll be completely epic and unpredictable.
Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart
Two sisters rebelling against their misogynistic society. Yes!
~~No covers yet~~
The Lady’s Guide To Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
Felicity. That’s all.
Smoke in the Sun (Flame in the Mist #2) by Renee Ahdieh
CAN’T WAIT!
Throne of Glass #7 by Sarah J. Maas
This is a must. It’ll be the end of an era.
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas
Kind ofΒ ehh since I’m honestly a little Feyre and Rhysand’d out, but I also can’t imagine not reading this either.
What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Two of my fave authors writing a book together? YEAH! I’m not sure if this book’ll make me smile or cry, but I’ll take it either way!
The new Sally Green series sounds really good! I still have to finish the Half Bad series though… π
Hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the Half Bad series! (It’s one of my faves) π
This is a great list! Iβm also super excited for Reaper, Leah, What if Itβs Us, and Onyx & Ivory!
Thanks! Hope we’ll both enjoy all those new releases π
Leah on the Offbeat!! And I didn’t know she and Adam Silvera had a book coming out.
Yes so excited for more Leah! And oh yes, I’m super curious to see what kind of book those two come up with. They’re two of my favorite authors so I expect something great π
I’m excited for a lot of these too, especially The Cruel Prince and Honor Among Thieves. Hope 2018 is a great reading year for us!
The Cruel Prince and Honor Among Thieves both just sound so great! Thanks and yes, hope 2018 will be an amazing reading year for us π
Onyx and Ivory and Honor Among Thieves both look good to me. I’ll need to add both of those! War Storm and Restore Me both look great too. Yay for sequels!!
They do sound so good! Hope they’ll live up to our expectations! And definitely the sequels as well, there my expectations are even higher π
I’m so excited for A Reaper at the Gates. An Ember in the Ashes is my favourite ongoing series. I don’t know how I survived 2017 without Laia and Elias.
Everless made my list too. I find its premise intriguing – extracting time from blood? Time for currency? You can count me in!
OMG yes I’m so with you with A Reaper At The Gates. The wait has been way too long, but I’m sure it’ll be totally worth it! π
Everless sounds so intriguing indeed. Can’t wait to dive into it!
I love your list! I have only read An Ember in the Ashes so far, but I have a feeling this series will become one of my favorites, so I can’t wait to read the second book and that third one coming out next year as well π
I’m really excited for Leah On the Offbeat as well, I can’t wait to read Leah’s story and am eager to get back into that universe π
Yay for An Ember in the Ashes! It’s one of my favorites and I loved the sequel just as much so I have high hopes for the next installment π Hope you’ll love the sequel and the third one as well!
And yes, Leah was one of my favorite characters in Simon vs, so I’m excited to be able to read her story (and I’m of course also happy to be able to see what’s up with Simon and Blue as well π )
Onyx and Ivory sounds awesome! Definitely putting that one on my list!! And I am also looking forward to The Cruel Prince!! It sounds so good!!
They do sound so awesome indeed! Hope they’ll live up to both our expectations π
Wow, so many great sounding books on your list!
Thanks! π
I am far too excited about Leah! π Becky Albertalli is easy one of my favourites now. Fab list!
Yes, Becky Albertalli is so amazing π
Everless was on my list as well, it has such an interesting premise. I`m also very excited for Leah on the Off Beat since I loved her in Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda. And even though I don`t know anything about the plot, I can`t wait to read the collab between Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. I mean, you have Adam and probably someone will die. And then here jumps Becky saying that they will die of too much fun :)) (it was a lot cooler in the Parks and Recs meme)
Everless does sound so interesting! I loved Leah a lot too, can’t wait to read her POV. And OMG you’re description of the Becky/Adam collab sounds SPOT ON, haha π
Most of these books are from series I STILL haven’t started, but I’m hoping to get to some of them in 2018 ?
Also, Everless is one book I am SUPER hyped for. It looks and sounds incredible.
Hope you’re having a good week, Lindsey!
Hope you’ll get to all the books you want in 2018 Amy! And yeah, Everless sounds so amazing, can’t wait to read it!
Honor Among Thieves sounds really good but Rachel Caine has been pretty miss for me so far so I’m just waiting on a lot of reviews, haha. Great list!
Ah sorry to hear about your Rachel Caine misses! I haven’t read anything else by her yet, so hopefully I’ll enjoy Honor Among Thieves π
