Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
Today is all about those books we could re-read forever. I don’t re-read a lot (though it’s my goal to do this more), but when I do re-read, I usually go for one of these two categories:
- The feel-good contemporary romances. The books that make me smile. The books that make me swoon. The books that make me feel good and always manage to cheer me up, no matter what.
- The epic fantasy worlds I adore. For when I really want to escape reality and just live in another world for a while. For when I want to help fight dragons, rebel against evil overlords, go on dangerous heists or save the world, all from the safety and comfort of my couch.
Taking both categories into account, these are the books you’ll most likely find me re-reading:
>> The Feel-Good Contemporary Romances <<
Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
It’s no secret that Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is my go-to feel-good book. It never fails to make me smile and as such I will continue to re-read as much as I can. Will I get one more re-read in before I see the movie (Probably yes, since it’s only releasing in June here in Belgium *cries*)
TheseΒ Stephanie Perkins books
These are pure romantic fluff and sometimes I just crave a good fluffy romance. It also help that these books have such gorgeous settings that fill me with Wanderlust.
These Morgan Matson books
More romantic fluff, except these books also delve into some deeper issues. Either way, I adore them and can re-read forever.
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
When I finished this book the first time, I immediately went back to page one and started all over again. And then I did it a third time. I think it’s time I go back in for my fourth re-read.
>> The Epic Fantasy Worlds I Adore <<
The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
How could this not be on this list? It’s my favorite fantasy world of all time.
The Red Winter trilogy by Annette Marie
I adore this fantasy world, filled with Japanese mythological creatures such as yokai and kami, and my personal favorite: kitsunes <3
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
A sci-fi take on classic fairytales, with amazing characters, adorable romances and squad goals to end all squad goals.
The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
Greek mythology! I mean seriously, this series is based on Greek mythology. That says it all. It’s another must on my re-read list.
The Grisha World by Leigh Bardugo
This world. These characters. Nikolai. Nina. I love you all.
The Throne of GlassΒ series by Sarah J. Maas
This series is what got me back into fantasy after a long reading slump and what eventually got me to start my book blog, so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. I am not always 100% content with the way things have played out, how certain characters have been treated or how Sarah writes her romance, but overall I can’t help it. I’ll re-read this forever and ever and ever.
All the “Six of Crows” love!! Someday I AM reading those. π
I feel like if I did re-read (I don’t either because I have too many new TBR books, though I’d like to re-read), I’d opt for those that make me smile. Plus those are the books that would likely be the easiest to enjoy re-reading. Love seeing Stephanie Perkins and Morgan Matson on the list (another reminder I *need* to read more of their respective books). Also, as I recently acquired a copy of “The Hating Game,” it’s fun to see that one make your list today. π
Happy Top Ten Tuesday!
Haha, I hope you’ll really enjoy Six of Crows when you get to them!
And Stephanie Perkins and Morgan Matson of course! I think you’d really enjoy their books especially! AND The Hating Game too, definitely π
I do love escaping (or re- escaping) into a favorite epic fantasy world! And The Hating Game looks cute, I’ve been wanting to read that one! The Percy Jackson books too…
Yes, some fantasy worlds are just ideal for escaping into again and again π
So many books in your list I would love to read!
I can not re-read books but I love to re-read my favorite scenes.
My TTT.
Re-reading favorite scenes is such a great way too!
HP! Lunar Chronicles! Grishaverse!! All yes to these of course. BUT the biggest YAASSS goes to Simon VS because itβs the most precious and adorable book ever and Iβve read it so many times already itβs ridiculous.
OMG yes, I re-read Simon the most amount of times already as well. It’s so precious indeed <3
I know those Morgan Matson covers, but I never realised until now she wrote them all. Great list!
Haha yeah, she has quite a few books out already. Thanks so much!
Interesting. Iβm the opposite. When I reread, I read dense text. Interesting.

Haha, a good thing we all have different tastes π
Oooo The Red Winter trilogy looks amazing, I’m gonna hop on Goodreads to find out more about it!! Oh and I definitely agree with Harry Potter series and Simon. π
Ah, I hope you’ll enjoy the Red Winter trilogy if you choose to pick it up! It’s one of my faves <3 And Harry and Simon too of course :)
Definitely Harry Potter! I feel like I find something new in the books every time I read them!
Yes, Harry Potter will probably always be on this list π
Love your list! I like to escape into books like Harry Potter as well. I’ve finally started reading the Lunar Chronicles! I’ve read Cinder and Scarlet and just started Cress. I’m really enjoying the series so far. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday
So glad to hear you’re enjoying The Lunar Chronicles!
I seriously need to read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda but totally agree with The Hating Game and Percy Jackson!
The Hating Game and Percy Jackson yes <3 Hope you'll enjoy Simon when you get to it!
Simon! Nikolai! I approve, haha.
Two of my most favorite bookish characters ever <3
Leigh Bardugo is my all-time favorite (as you probably know) and I’m even rereading The Grisha Trilogy now as audiobooks.
I haven’t reread Harry Potter in a long time but I used to every fall, it was always magical.
Thanks for sharing,
~Brittany @ Brittany’s Book Rambles
Leigh Bardugo is amazing! I’m definitely planning a Grisha re-read before the Nikolai books come out (which is still way too long…)
I had no idea Love, Simon isn’t releasing here in Belgium until June. That’s such a long wait compared to other countries… π
Yes, exactly, it’s such a pity! I just hope it will actually be in movie theatres by June, because I’m worried it might not be popular enough in Belgium to show in the theatres… Finegrs crossed π
Harry Potter and Percy Jackson I could definitely reread forever. I do love Throne of Glass, but would need to be guaranteed an extended period of free time to get through books 3-5 again!
Yes, Throne of Glass is definitely a huge series to get through a re-read π
Anna and the French Kiss made my list too this week! I just love that book so much!!! I’m seeing a lot of Harry Potter on lists this week. Same with Throne of Glass as well.
They do seem to be the most re-readable books for a lot of people π
Nice list! I guess Harry Potter is going to be on everyone’s list today π
There are so many books on your list that I want to read badly. I have started Simon just yesterday and gosh, I am loving it π
I can’t re-read books.. like ever. Simply because my unread TBR is higher than the books that I have actually read! Yes, no time to re-read π
Ahhh I’m so happy you’re enjoying Simon!
I’m terrible about re-reading but I’m working on re-reading more because I do usually enjoy it when I actually do it π But yes, the guilt of not working on that ever-growing TBR is also haunting me!
I think the Harry Potter series is the only series that I have reread over and over and over and I’m still not sick of them. I feel like I’m always midway through a reread of Harry Potter (currently on number five) and I love it so much. You’re right about Morgan Matson though, I’ve only read one book by her, but I feel like she’s definitely a very rereadable author.
Haha it’s a good thing to always be in a HP re-read π
Hi! I’m adding The Hating Game to my TBR! π
My TTT
Leslie
Great, hope you’ll enjoy it! π
I agree with the fantasy books. My mom loved HP even more than I did! I guess I’m going to have to read Simon and Anna!!
That’s so great! Hope you’ll love Simon and Anna π
One of my favorite re-reads is a little childish. It’s The Hobbit. I don’t know why. But I’ve re-read it every year since childhood. I could probably re-read HP again even though I didn’t read that until it came out (I was in my 20s). OMG – I am so old!
The Hobbit is a great re-read! I unfortunately haven’t finished my first read yet though…
I’m not a contemporary reader… But I do want to read Simon (how many times have I mentioned this on your blog alone?? Ha ha).
I LOVE all of your choices in the fantasy section though (obviously) and I’m so glad I wasn’t disappointed and I saw Red Winter on there! π I agree with all the pics and I also want to reread the Grisha books AND Red Winter AND all the SJM. π
Awesome list.
Haha, I love that you want to read Simon even though contemporary isn’t your usual genre! It’s one of my favorites so I do hope you’ll enjoy it when you get to it! I’m so excited for the movie too!
I think I’m making it my personal mission to include Red Winter in EVERY SINGLE TOP TEN TUESDAY POST, haha. Or as many as possible anyway π
