Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
Today’s all about those books on our wishlist that we want so badly but are still so very far away.Β Those books that we’d do anything for to be able to read them today, right now, pretty please. Yet, they are so far away, there’s not even covers or titles for some of these.
These are the books I want so badly that I might consider selling my soul for. Or probably something less drastic like give up the internet (say what?) or stop eating sugar (say what again?).
Coming out in 2018 so I just need patience
Spoiler:Β Patience is not one of my virtues…
Wildcard by Marie Lu
Even though I was lucky enough to have read Warcross just last month (read: I procrastinated for a looong time), which shortened the wait for Wildcard, IT IS STILL TOO LONG OF A WAIT! After that ending, I need Wildcard now!
Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
It’s the end of an era. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book for 5-6 years already. I almost don’t want it to be over, but then again I also need answers and I need them now.
Coming out in 2019 so I just need a time-machine
Spoiler: no time-machine found yet. If you have one, I’d be willing to pay for use of it. Thank you.
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
I’ve only been wanting this book ever since I was introduced to the character of Nikolai Lantsov in the Grisha trilogy and he was promptly promoted to my all-time-favorite character. So naturally I’m beyond ecstatic that we’re actually getting more Nikolai and an actual Nikolai-centric book series. But I might be even more ecstatic if I didn’t have to wait until 2019.
The Wicked King by Holly Black
The Cruel Prince was my favorite read of the year so far. I need the sequel so badly. I need to know how the story of Jude and Cardan progresses. PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW!
Gumiho by Kat Cho
This story is set in modern-day Seoul and based on the Korean myth of the gumiho, a nine-tailed fox, which has some similarities to the Japanese kitsune. I’m already obsessed with kitsunes, but a books about a gumiho? YES, PLEASE!
Untitled Loki YA by Mackenzi Lee
Really, all I know about this book is that it’s a Loki YA and it’s written by Mackenzi Lee. THAT’S ALL I NEED TO KNOW I NEED IT NOW!
A fantasy book by Adam Silvera
I want all the Adam Silvera books ever and I want them now. What is waiting? I don’t like waiting.
We Hunt The Flame by Hafsah Faizal
Ok let’s see what this is about: this #ownvoices YA fantasy, set in a richly reimagined ancient Arabia, follows Zafiraβa young woman who masquerades as a man to seek a lost artifact that could return magic to her cursed worldβand the Prince of Death tasked with killing her. I mean, is there a single word in this description that I do not like? Ancient Arabia + woman masquerading as a man + magic + Prince of Death = I WANT IT!
Blackfire by Annette Marie
Can I ever get enough Annette Marie? The answer is no! Of course I want to read the sequel to the Steel & Stone and the Spell Weaver series and of course I want it now !
The untitled Ronan-centered trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater
Ronan-centered trilogy. That is all.
Ugh I need King of Scars and the untitled Ronan trilogy now. ._.
Yes, the wait is still waaay too long…
Gumiho and We Hunt The Flame sound so interesting! I’m definitely adding them to my to-read list (even though the wait is so long…)
They do sound so good I almost wish I hadn’t heard about them yet because they’re still so far away…
Wildcard and The Wicked King are two I’m looking forward to (I still need to read Cruel Prince, but I started it in the bookstore the other day and was sucked right in). And a Loki YA???
Wildcard is definitely a must-read for me! I hope you’ll enjoy The Cruel Prince, I think it’s my favorite read of the year so far π And the words Loki YA already get me way too excited when there’s not even a title or cover or anything yet…
King of Scars made my list this week too! I forgot to include them but I’d definitely love to get my hands on Wild Card and The Wicked King.
King of Scars is pretty much my number one most anticipated book from since before I knew it was going to be an actual book π But Wild Card and The Wicked King take a pretty close second place.
These are a lot of books by tried and true authors! I hope you score them soon.
Thanks so much π
Yes to Adam Silvera – anything he writes. I just want it. And Mackenzi Lee’s Loki novel. Yes please!! And Ronan trilogy!!!!

Any and all Adam Silvera will do π Same with Mackenzi Lee and Ronan ofcourse!
We Hunt The Flame! YEEEEEEES!! Who DOESN’T want to read that? And why the heck not??? Though to be honest I haven’t heard of over half the others you listed, haha. I feel so out of the bookish world π Thanks for cluing me into them!!
We Hunt the Flame just sounds sooo good!
I’m seeing so many Sarah J. Maas and Holly Black today! I haven’t heard of any of these other authors though. Need to check them out now. π
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Definitely! I hope you’ll enjoy them if you decide to check them out π
Adam Silvera is an incredible writer! Great list.
He is amazing indeed! π
A lot of these books are books I’ve just heard of in passing, but they sound so interesting. I cannot wait any longer for the Wicked King. I have a friend who managed to get an ARC (I’m not jealous at all, no, not at all) and she’s been broken after finishing it for days now, SO I’M KIND OF TERRIFIED. Also, I’m so excited to see what Adam Silvera does with fantasy! He’s always messed around with speculative fiction and such, I’d be so interested to see what he does with an entire fantasy story. ?
Oh my I’m so not jealous of your friend’s ARC of The Wicked King either π But is it weird that hearing that it broke her made me want to read it even more? Sure, I’m terrified, but I also want to know! π Yes, it’ll be so interesting to see what Adam Silvera will do with a full-blown fantasy.
YAASSS King of Scars! I have been waiting for my Nikolai books for so many years, I can’t believe it’s finally happening π Awesome post!
Brittany @ Brittany’s Book Rambles
Yes, exactly! Hearing the news about the Nikolai books was like a dream come true π
KING OF SCARS OF COURSE!!!
YES TO MORE NIKOLAI! π
Kingdom of Ash was on my list this week too. And of course I’m super excited for the Ronan-centred trilogy.
So looking forward to those as well π
GAHHHH I totally forgot about the Ronan books!!!! That definitely should’ve made my list!!
So looking forward to the Ronan books!
The question is: WHY (WHY!!) did I forget “Wildcard”!? I cannot wait to get my hands on that beauty and discover what’s next!
Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland last week, Lindsey – sorry it took me the week to circle back to your blog. π
Well, there are just TOO MANY great books out there, we can’t possibly remember them all. But of course we want to read them all anyway π
Thanks so much for visiting Rissi! <3
