Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
I’ve been MIA to Top Ten Tuesday for the past few weeks because life got a little busy, but I am so HAPPY to get this post up, because I LOVE gushing about all the books I want to read and maybe, hopefully, also actually will read soon. And oh boy, does the second half of 2019 deliver with some amazing releases.
Here are the twelve releases of the second half of 2019 I’m most excited for!
Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee
September 3rd
I love the character of Loki fiercely. I also love Mackenzi Lee’s writing and I trust her to do him justice. So heck yeah, I’m anticipating this release.
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
September 3rd
A love story between a witch and a witch hunter? I mean, as an enormous enemies-to-lovers enthusiast, I give it a YES PLEASE!
The Magnolia Sword by Sherry Thomas
September 10th
It’s a Mulan retelling. Written by a Chinese-American author, whose Elemental trilogy I already loved and adored. Also, what a gorgeous cover!
Taming Demons For Beginners by Annette Marie
September 13th
Hey, what did you expect? A list without any Annette Marie? As if 🙂
I’m really looking forward to this new spin-off series set in a favorite world. Also, is it weird that I’m really hoping for a demon-demon tamer romance?
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
October 1st
It’s Leigh Bardugo’s first adult novel. Honestly, this book was already on my ‘WANT IT’ list purely because it’s Leigh Bardugo.
Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
October 3rd
I am both ecstatically happy and low-key terrified at the thought of more Simon and Baz. Please let this live up to all my expectations.
The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
October 8th
I haven’t read about vampires in a while and am totally ready to dive back in. Especially if the story is set in New Orleans and is written in the lush and gorgeous writing style of Renée Ahdieh.
Into The Crooked Place by Alexandra Christo
October 8th
I loved Alexandra Christo’s To Kill A Kingdom, so naturally I’m intrigued by anything she writes next. Also, I’m just a sucker for the crooks/outcasts working together trope, so there’s that too.
The Alchemist and an Amaretto by Annette Marie
October 11th
Seriously, do I even need to explain at this point? Annette Marie will always be on my most anticipated list.
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
November 5th
I was late to the The Night Circus train, but now that I have firmly boarded that plane, I can’t wait to lose myself in the beautiful whimsy of Erin Morgenstern’s next novel.
Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater
November 5th
Note to self: reread The Raven Cycle before this release.
Also, YAASSS MORE RONAN. Please just give me some happy Ronan/Adam scenes, please?
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
November 19th
THE FACT THAT THIS BOOK HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO A 2019 RELEASE DATE HAS MADE MY YEAR, OKAY? I need more Cardan and Jude, stat.
Ooo! I didn’t know this Mulan re-telling existed. I’ll have to give it a look on Goodreads. Also, haven’t read Erin’s SUPER popular “Night Circus,” but her new book has a stunning title! Makes me want to give it a closer look, too. 🙂 Hope you enjoy ALL of these, Lindsey.

I’m a sucker for anything Mulan related so I couldn’t resist! I also only read The Night Cirucs this year, but I fell in love, so hope you will too 🙂
Marie is really cranking the books out! And Holly Black’s looks amazing too- I need to read that series.
She really is, but I’m loving it though I fear I’m getting spoiled by all the Annette Marie book releases 🙂
So many good ones coming. Looking forward to many of these, esp Ninth House. I’m pretty much dying to read that one.

I have a lot of these already on my wishlist. Yep, it’s definitely the year of the snake which is creeping me out because I’m so scared of them!
Haha yeah I’m not a fan of snakes either, but it is funny that they’re everywhere in book world nowadays 🙂
Ninth House, Into The Crooked Place and Call Down The Hawk were all on my list this week too! The “Book Snake” has definitely been making the rounds this year, so many snake related covers particularly for the back half of this year!
I can’t wait for all of those books! Yeah the book snake is very popular this year 🙂

I’ve never read Bardugo (I know!), but I might start with Ninth House…it looks really good!
Ninth House sounds soo good and quite different from her other books, which is definitely intriguing 🙂

GOSH, the snake really is taking over isn’t it?! Wild. OKAY, but, real talk, I was eying your list and I’m 100% looking forward to all of these too because YES. But, especially, Ninth House, Queen of Nothing, Wayward Son and The Starless Sea. I need them all now (or preferably yesterday but it’s fine it’s cool I’ll wait!!!) now now.
