Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
A new year means new books to look forward to! And boy do I have a lot of books to look forward to. Following are the ten books that are scheduled for release in the first half of 2020 that I’m looking forward to the most! *disclaimer: this in no way means I’ll actually read these in the first half of 2020…*
Druid Vices and a Vodka by Annette Marie
Release date: 3 January
No list of mine would be complete without any Annette Marie on there, so let’s just start with this one shall we? I’m so looking forward to the sixth book in the Guild Codex: Spellbound series!
(I actually already read this one, YAY! Check out my review here)
A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer
Release date: 7 January
You may have heard me cry out in pain once I finished A Curse So Dark and Broken last year and realized it was in fact NOT a standalone and I had to wait months for the sequel. But now the sequel is (almost) here and I LIVE!!
Infinity Son by Adam Silvera
Release date: 14 January
I love Adam Silvera’s books so much, even if they all make me sob like a little baby. So I’m both excited and very worried about his first fantasy release!
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
Release date: 21 January
Look, I’m a pen pal-trope addict. There I said it. I’m also an enemies-to-lovers addict. AND I love Twitter. So enemies hashing it out through Twitter and falling for eachother in real life? YES PLEASE. Basically, this book was written for me and you can’t tell me otherwise.
Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed
Release date: 4 February
Honestly, this book had me hooked from the tagline ‘cross-cultural romance of the century’ and that absolutely cute cover.
Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon
Release date: 18 February
Talk about cute, I need this contemporary Beauty and the Beast retelling like now, thank you very much.
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
Release date: 3 March
I must confess, I have no idea what this book is about. But it’s by Sarah J. Maas and I loved every single book by her so far, so I’m reading it.
Bone Crier’s Moon by Kathryn Purdie
Release date: 10 March
More enemies-to-lovers. An intricate fantasy world. And a gorgeous cover. Hitting all my spots.
Loveless by Alice Oseman
Release date: 30 April
Asexual representation written by Alice Oseman? This book already has a spot in my heart and I haven’t even read it yet.
The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang
Release date: 4 May
This is the Quan book! This is the Quan book! This is the Quan book! This is the Quan book! (I’m sorry, did you expect me to be more eloquent about this? IT’S QUAN, FINALLY!)
Those Annette Marie books look SO fun. I need to try those in 2020. I love too how she’s cranking them out! And they seem to be getting raves!
They ARE super fun! I hope you’ll enjoy them when you get to them! And feel free to let me know what you think, since I’m dying to discuss these books more haha 🙂 And yeah, she writes them so quickly, I feel a little spoiled as a fan 🙂
Great minds: I have “Of Curses and Kisses” on my as well. Oh! And I’ve been reading “Tweet Cute,” and it IS pretty darn cute! Hope you enjoy, Lindsey – and HAPPY 2020! 🙂
Haha so looking forward to Of Curses and Kisses! Oh that’s great that you’re enjoying Tweet Cute, I’m sure I’ll love it too 🙂 Happy 2020 to you too Rissi!
I can’t wait for Shorefall by Robert Jackson Bennett.
What is a book I should start with Annette Marie do you think? I do really want to try her work.
I’ll have to check out Shorefall, it’s new to me but if you’re highly anticipating it it must be great!
Ahh I do hope you’ll try some Annette Marie (and enjoy it of course)! If you prefer some sassy urban fantasy, I’d recommend starting with Three Mages and a Margarita (book one in the Guild Codex: Spellbound serie). If you prefer some romantic fantasy based on mythology, I’d recommend reading the Red Winter trilogy, which is based on Japanese mythology and my personal favorite <3 She also has the Steel and Stone 6-book series and the Spell Weaver trilogy which is a spin-off of it, but though I LOVE this series overall, it's her first series so I'd recommend starting with some of the other series that I think showcase her writing style better. End of essay haha ;) But seriously, please let me know what you think if you decide to give one of these a try :)
Great list! I really need to give A Curse So Dark and Lonely a try, and I need to read some Annette Marie this year. I’m so glad Loveless has been brought to my attention this year! I’m always keen to read more aro/ace rep.
Oh I so hope you’ll try (and love) A Curse So Dark and Lonely and Annette Marie’s books! So looking forward to Loveless <3
Aw, I like the look of Tweet Cute!
It looks so cute!
I DEFINITELY need Infinity Son. I’m excited about Loveless too though, because we need more ace rep!
-Lauren
Yes, we definitely need more ace rep out there! Ahhh and Infinity Son, it’s so close now!
Tweet Cute has been on so many lists this week.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday
Yes, it definitely seems highly anticipated!
Great choices! I’m definitely looking forward to Yes No Maybe So.
Yes No Maybe So sounds so cute and just like a great read!
Happy reading! All of these books seem right up your alley. 🙂
My TTT .
Thanks!
I’m currently reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely, but I’m seeing mixed reviews for A Heart So Fierce and Broken. I’m really hoping it doesn’t end up being a series I don’t finish. ?
My TTT
Oh that sounds sad, I hope we’ll still both love A Heart So Fierce and Broken anyway!
I cannot wait for The Heart Principle!!!
Same, hope it’ll be as good as the previous two books 🙂
I’m currently listening to the audiobook of A Heart So Fierce And Broken actually. 😉 And I’m also looking forward to House of Earth and Blood, of course!
Ahh how is A Heart So Fierce And Broken? I’m still waiting for my physical copy to get here 🙂
