Today’s all about one of my favorite things: quotes! But not just any quotes, no, I’m talking about OPENING LINES. You know, they carry quite a heavy burden, these opening lines. They are the first impression of a book (well, besides the cover. And blurb.) and as such they are CRUCIAL in getting the reader invested and setting the tone of the story to come. So, a really big deal.
So naturally, I have some favorite opening lines for you. (If you want to, you can also check out part one of my favorite opening lines here. ) Enjoy!

After seeing The Shadows Between Us on several lists I think I am going to have to get this book.

The Night Circus was on my list as well! I love the sound of To Kill A Kingdom based off of that line – I’m definitely going to bump it up my TBR.

I love that To Kill A Kingdom one. I also had the Ninth House one on my list this week. The Night Circus I have to admit was not one of my favourite books, but it does have a great opening line.
I love how even if The Night Circus is not a book everybody loves, we all do appreciate the opening line 🙂

Ooooh I love the opening line to To Kill A Kingdom! Sounds amazing. I’ve had it on my TBR for awhile but I still have to get around to reading it D:
