Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
Today’s topic was ‘books that make me smile’ and since that can be interpreted a few different ways, I decided to go the comfort-way. Meaning, the below books are all books that are comfort reads to me. Reading them makes me smile, because they each have something heartwarming, relatable or just plain feel-good and hopeful that makes me feel comforted and content. They’re the dandelion in the spring, if you must 🙂 This is a mix of adult and young adult, fantasy and contemporary, old and new, but all of them are comforting reads I’d choose to re-read whenever I want to feel comforted and smile.
Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann
If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane
Running With Lions by Julian Winters
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Tell Me:
Have you read any of these books? What are your go-to comfort books that always put a smile on your face?
I love a good comfort read book that makes me feel good. So true. Queens of Geek was a good one. I want to read Starry Eyes too.
Comfort reads are the best for sure! Queens of Geek is a classic comfort read to me. Hope you’ll enjoy Starry Eyes!
I finally got a copy of Well Met and I’m really looking forward to it!
I hope you’ll enjoy Well Met! I’m really looking forward to Well Played as well 🙂
Great list! I love Heartstopper and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, and I really enjoyed Well Met, too. Starry Eyes, The Unhoneymooners, Let’s Talk About Love and Sorcery of Thorns are all on my TBR.
Thanks! Hope you’ll love all of the books on your TBR!
Sorcery of Thorns, yay! It makes me smile too. ♥
It’s such a feel-good book to me!
Ooh yes, I agree with the ones I’ve read: Running with Lions, Red White and Royal Blue, Simon Vs., Heartstopper, etc. I do love comfort reads like this that just make you happy.

Comfort reads are my favorite reads, I think 🙂
The Unhoneymooners was fun, I’m eager to read the new novel by the author of The Switch, and why haven’t I read Simon and the Homo Sapien Agenda yet?
I hope you’ll enjoy Simon and the Homo Sapiens Agenda when you get to it!
So many great ones on here that I’ve read and still need to read! The Unhoneymooners is definitely a comfort read. <3
The Unhoneymooners is definitely such a comforting read 🙂
I loved Sorcery of Thorns and Starry Eyes! They are definitely books I’d go back to, either for comfort or just to satisfy the urge to reread such amazing stories!
I’m ashamed to admit that the rest of these are either on my TBR or new to me… the shame comes from most of them actually being on the TBR. ? But if they’re comforting reads to you, I definitely need to get to them!
Happy Reading!! <3
I’m happy to hear you loved Sorcery of Thorns and Starry Eyes!
Haha, don’t worry, a big TBR is a good thing, lots to look forward to 😉
Great list, Lindsey! Well Met and Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda are definitely comfort reads for me as well, as is pretty much anything by Jenn Bennett and Christina Lauren. 🙂
Jenn Bennett and Christina Lauren are definitely authors whose books I can’t get enough off 🙂
I feel the same way about Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Good list!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by earlier.
