Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
FALL IS FINALLY HERE AND I AM EXCITED ABOUT IT! Hence the capslock, obviously.
Today is the time to set up our seasonal TBR’s but as usual I don’t really do TBR’s since I’m a major mood reader and never actually stick to any TBR. However, I do get very excited about upcoming releases, and fall is like prime book release time – so much so that it was hard to limit this to just ten books…
So without further ado, I present to you the ten fall 2020 releases I’m excited about the most:
First up, the finales to TWO of my favorite series right now:
Damned Souls and a Sangria by Annette Marie
Release date: October 2nd
It’s the finale in the Spellbound series and I AM EXCITED AND NERVOUS!
Delivering Evil for Experts by Annette Marie
Release date: October 16th
It’s the finale in the Demonized series and I AM EXCITED AND NERVOUS (PART TWO)!
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik
Release date: September 29th
A school for the magically gifted where failure means certain death… This sounds so dark and creepy and like a PERFECT read for fall weather.
Fence: Striking Distance by Sarah Rees Brennan
Release date: September 29th
I love the Fence comics by C.S. Pacat and though another author taking on the novel-format is a little worrying, I’m still super excited and ready for more time with Nicolas and Seji!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
Release date: October 6th
Two things:
One: the story is about a young woman makes a bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.
Two: it’s written by V.E. Schwab.
That’s all I need to know, really.
Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco
Release date: October 27th
A quest for vengeance and an intoxicating romance with a prince of Hell? Umm, yes please! Sounds like the perfect Halloween read to me.
Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer
Release date: November 3rd
Marissa Meyer releasing a young adult contemporary has gotten the entire book community hyped, and I’m no exception. I’m so eagerly anticipating this story about a girl suddenly gifted with the ability to cast instant karma on those around her. SOUNDS SO GOOD!
Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett
Release date: November 10th
Look, I wanted to read this when it was still supposed to be released in May. In the meantime, I’ve only gotten more excited to read it. I need more friends-to-lovers trope in my life so naturally I like the idea of former childhood best friends reuniting and becoming something more.
Rent A Boyfriend by Gloria Chao
Release date: November 10th
I just read “romantic comedy about a college student who hires a fake boyfriend to appease her traditional Taiwanese parents, to disastrous results, from the acclaimed author of American Panda” and I liked every single thing about this description. Also, that cover!
A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir
Release date: December 1st
It’s the finale in the Ember in the Ashes trilogy!!! I haven’t even read A Reaper at the Gates yet, but it’s okay because I’ve got a plan and said plan involves binge-reading this entire series in time for the release of the grand finale AND I AM SO READY!

Thank you!
Ahhh I am beyond thrilled for Chasing Lucky! Jenn Bennett is one of my favorite contemporary writers and I am dying to get my hands on this book. I hope you enjoy the books on your list! 🙂
Here’s my Fall TBR if you’d like to give it a look!
Ah yeah me too! So glad to hear you love Jenn Bennett! She’s definitely one of my favorites as well 🙂
Books by Annette Marie… so surprising! 😛 Also would love to read A Deadly Education and Addie Larue!
Haha I know, my lists are always so surprising 😉 So looking forward to A Deadly Education and Addie Larue too!
Great list! I’m so excited for A Deadly Education and I really want to try Kingdom of the Wicked.
Me too, they sound so good! Hope they’ll live up to our expectations 🙂
Chasing Lucky wasn’t my favorite of hers, but lots of people loved it so I’m thinking it might have been my 2020 COVID mood when I read it. I hope you love it!
Oh I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy Chasing Lucky, but it is definitely possible it was COVID related so hopefully I’ll still enjoy it more 🙂
I totally forgot to put A Deadly Education on my list. I preordered it and everything, it just slipped my mind 😀
I’ve been toying with getting Addie Larue as well, I just can’t decide!
Haha I understand, there really are so many great books releasing this fall 🙂
I’m so excited that Chasing Lucky is finally going to be released!
Me too, I feel like I’ve already been waiting for it forever, haha 🙂
Huh, well it looks like my original comment on this post never went through. I hope you get that sorted out soon. I did see your other post on this topic a minute ago.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by earlier.
Oh I’m sorry to hear your previous comment didn’t come through, though I’m glad this one did! I’m still working on it and I really, really hope I’ll find a solution soon! Thanks for letting me know.
I am really curious about Kingdom of the Wicked. I hope you enjoy all these books!
Me too, it sounds like the perfect Halloweeny read 🙂
I DEFINITELY want to read A Deadly Education, Addie LaRue, and Kingdom of the Wicked. It’s funny how those book covers just seem to go so well together too.
-Lauren
Haha yes, now that you mention it, they do seem a bit like a matching set and I love it 🙂
Ooh, we have two in common! And several others I’d love to read if I had time.
So many great fall book releases, so little time, for sure 🙂
I can’t wait to read more of Annette Marie’s books!
I’m so happy you love Annette Marie’s books too, Sophie! Hope you’ll enjoy the next ones you pick up as well 🙂
I’m a mood reader too. And those Annette Marie books look so fun!
Mood reading definitely makes reading more fun according to me 😉 The Annette Marie books are definitely so fun!
Great list! I can’t believe I forgot to put it on my list, but I’m definitely planning to read Addie Larue as soon as my pre-order arrives. I’m also planning to read Instant Karma and Chasing Lucky soon too.
Thanks! Addie Larue, Instant Karma and Chasing Lucky all sound amazing and I can’t wait to read them 🙂
I’m very excited for Instant Karma, too! I love Marissa Meyer’s The Lunar Chronicles series. It’ll be interesting to read something from her in a different genre. 🙂
Exactly! I love the Lunar Chronicles (which are in need of a re-read now that I think about it 🙂 ) and Instant Karma just sounds so fun!
