Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
Today’s post is all about secondary characters! I love when stories feature amazing secondary characters that you can’t help but want more of. Either more scenes in the existing stories, or their own stories would be fine! Here are a few of my favorite secondary characters from my recent reads:
Gretchen from The Night Prince series by Jeaniene Frost
I’m currently on the final book of this series (no spoilers as I didn’t finish yet), and though this may be an unpopular opinion, I’ve always loved the character of Gretchen. She’s main character Laia’s little sister and though she always acts a little immature and shallow around Laia, I’ve always felt there’s so much more to her and I’d love more of her story.
Isaiah and Wes from One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
These two were great secondary characters in August’s story, but I kind of wanted to live their romance from their own POV as well, instead of just through the eyes of August.
Rissa from The Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy
Rissa is another one of King Midas’s “saddles” in the story, and as such, she starts out as somewhat of a rival to Auren, the main character in the story. But Rissa is also smart and good at making the best of her situation. I’ve always been intrigued by her and hope we’ll see more of her as the series progresses (and I also hope she’ll become a closer friend to Auren)
Hecate from Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe
Oh Hecate, I love you so! This Greek mythology webtoon retelling is full of amazing characters and I almost made this post purely about Lore Olympus, but if I have to choose just one favorite Godess, it would be Hecate, Godess of Witchcraft and Magic amongst others and (in this retelling), the wise yet chaos-loving right-hand woman of Hades and Persephone. Also, the sass! Gotta love the sass!
Fizz from The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren
Can we get a story from Fizz’s POV? Though she’s only the supportive BFF in this story, I’d love to read a story all about the romance writer herself.
Yuki from All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata
Yuki’s a famous singer but also really kind and a good friend to Aurora and I’d really, really love to read a story all about her too.
Kieran from From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Yes, I know he’s already one of the biggest secondary characters in the entire series, but I still really, really love this stoic, sarcastic wolven and just need more, more, more of him, okay?
Darius from the Guild Codex series by Annette Marie
The enigmatic silver fox and Guild Leader of the Crow and Hammer has been a presence in all Guild Codex series so far, but he’s still as mysterious as in the very beginning. So of course I’m super intrigued and want his story!

How do you feel about any of these secondary characters?
I love a good secondary character. Darius sounds fun and so does Fizz.
Sometimes I will definitely love a secondary character more than the main characters 🙂
Oh I love and hate it when a character keeps coming back into a story but they remain mysterious. Like just give me the stud yeah.

Great list! Kieran made it onto mine today as well 😍I keep hoping that we’ll learn more and get more of him in each book! Haha I also ADORE Hecate in Lore Olympus (just that whole comic series actually is SO GOOD)!

I’ve been dying to read Lore Olympus ever since I saw the trailer on YouTube. It was so cool, a trailer for a webtoon! <3 <3 Hecate sounds amazing.

Maybe Jeaniene Frost will someday write a story featuring Gretchen in the lead, that would be so great! Kieren from From Blood and Ash is a favorite secondary character of mine too. And Darius! I’m super intrigued by him as well.
Ooh, that’s a great idea, I feel like there could still be a lot of Gretchen’s story to tell! And same for Darius and Kieran 🙂
I’m about 2 chapters into All Rhodes Lead Here so far and am loving it lol! I can’t wait to read about Yuki some more! Great post 🙂

I’m really hoping Mariana Zapata is writing Yuki’s story since she tends to connect her books and characters. Heck, I would take any of the side characters from that book.
I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed for a Yuki story! Though yes, definitely all of the side characters would be great!
The secondary characters in One Last Stop were so great. I just loved August’s roommates and coworkers.
They were the best, I’d love to get more of them!

Oh yes, I’d love to see Fizzy get more love. She was such a great character. I’d love to see August’s roommates get books of their own as well. They were so much fun.
