Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
First of all, YAY IT’S FALL AGAIN!!!!
Now that that’s out of my system, let’s get to today’s post. Today we’re talking about our fall TBR and really, with all of the awesome new book releases coming this fall, you can’t honestly expect me to get a lot of backlist reading done this season, can you? Nope, I’m pretty sure I’ll be sufficiently distracted with all these amazing releases to look forward to!
A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria
release date: September 14th
I loved Alexis Daria’s You Had Me At Hola, so I am of course super excited for her newest release! Plus the author said this new book has fake dating, fanfic, forced proximity, so what more could I really want?
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
release date: September 14th
Fake dating in a science setting? YES PLEASE! I’ve seen some great ARC reviews for this one already and I am pumped!
Defy The Night by Brigid Kemmerer
release date: September 14th
A new fantasy Robin Hood retelling by Brigid Kemmerer with a female “Robin”, a kingdom with a mysterious sickness and a ruthless prince? It just sounds amazing and we will just not mention the fact that I still need to finish her other fantasy series okay?
Under The Whispering Door by TJ Klune
release date: September 21st
If you’ve been reading my blog, it’ll be no surprise that The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is pretty much my most beloved, most favorite 2020 read. And Under The Whispering Door sounds like another amazing, fantastic and emotional read. I expect heartbreak, yes, but I also expect warmth and happiness and a feeling of contentment after reading this book.
The One and Only Crystal Druid by Annette Marie
release date: September 24th
So, my favorite author is writing a series featuring my favorite character from her previous series? OF COURSE I’M SUPER EXCITED! I can’t wait to dive back into the Guild Codex world and discover more of Zak’s story.
Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson
release date: September 28th
This book is described by the author herself as “medieval Venom starring a nun and a ghost. It’s about a girl training to be a nun who awakens an ancient spirit bound to a saint’s relic, and becomes a Joan of Arc type figure as she wields its power to battle the undead.”
And I am here just like SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Also, are we September yet?
Dark Rise by C.S Pacat
release date: September 28th
Honestly, I’m not even sure what this is about, but I love C.S. Pacat’s Captive Prince series AND her Fence comics so much that I’m certain I will love this new m/m fantasy as well!
Payback’s a Witch by Lana Harper
release date: October 5th
Described as “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina meets The L Word” and also “three scorned witches who make a vengeance pact to take down the asshole warlock who broke their hearts at different times… only two of them fall for each other instead” = me in love already.
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling
release date: October 5th
An adult rom-com featuring a witch who discovers a bad breakup ritual she did nine years ago might have actually worked, when her ex-boyfriend returns to town and things go haywire. I mean, this already sounds good, but then the author described it as Hocus Pocus, but adult so HI, I’M IN!!!
Well Matched by Jen DeLuca
release date: October 19th
Even though I’ve never been to a Renaissance Faire myself, I would LOVE to be able to experience it some day. But until then, this rom-com series is a pretty good warm-up! I am super excited for the third book in the series, because it will feature Mitch and April and I’ve kind of been shipping these two since book one.
And also, how awesome is it that this series is going through all my favorite romance tropes? We’ve had enemies-to-lovers and pen pal romance and now the time has come for FAKE DATING. I am so ready.
Also, kilts!
All The Feels by Olivia Dade
release date: October 26th
Ever since I read Spoiler Alert, which was a wonderful rom-com, I’ve been highly anticipating Alex and Lauren’s book. And now the cover and blurb are here and I’m even more excited!
ADHD rep + Body positivity + Fanfiction + Hate to love = I need it now!
A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
release date: November 2nd
I’ve seen this book described as featuring: A secret society of magicians in Edwardian London + part cute/steamy romance, part historical fantasy romp + a librarian/jock pairing + magical houses and all I know is I’M IN!
The Love Hypothesis is one of my favourite reads of this year and an all-time comfort read! Hope you enjoy reading it!
Oh that’s such high praise, now I definitely need to read it!
Hope you get to pick it up soon!!!
I just finished it and you’re right, IT WAS AMAZING!

Thanks! Hope they’ll live up to all our expectations 🙂
I’m looking forward to A Marvellous Light! I wasn’t impressed with Under the Whispering Door BUT I then read Cerulean Sea and I reckon I’m just not a fan of his writing style, so I’m sure you’ll love it.
A Marvellous Light does sound great! I’m sorry you didn’t like the Klune books – I did enjoy Cerulean Sea so hopefully I’ll also enjoy Under the Whispering Door.
A Lot Like Adios looks really good! I hope you love all of these!

I just finished The Love Hypothesis and I’m happy to say I indeed LOVED it 🙂
I’ve seen “Under the Whispering Door” on a few blogs and I really love the cover, Lindsey.
Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier.
It’s indeed such a gorgeous cover!
What a great variety of books here! Thank you! I LOVE a good genre blend and I recently found that after my book club picked “Touch the Sky” and “Daughter of the Sky” by Alison Blasdell (https://alisonblasdell.com/). This is a historical romance series BUT they can definitely be read out of order. “Daughter of the Sky” was my favorite. It was a faced-past read full of adventure, romance and even some paranormal aspects thrown in. The premise follows two women; one from medieval Europe, the daughter of King Henry (Lady Gwenivere Tudor). She is kidnapped and held captive. Our modern protagonist, Jennifer, a somewhat normal, everyday woman has the power to see through the eyes of the captive prisoner. I loved the back and forth between the two time periods. Two women in completely different circumstances, but somehow connected. I loved the parallels and the way the author weaves these stories together. If you can – definitely add at least one of these books to your fall TBR pile. And let me know what you think! Here is the author’s website – https://alisonblasdell.com/
