Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
Today we’re talking about new (to us) authors we discovered in 2021! I actually read quite a few new-to-me authors, but for this list I only selected my top authors. I enjoyed their books in 2021 and will definitely be keeping a lookout for new or backlist works by them in the future!
Laura Thalassa
I started off 2021 by reading the entire Bargainer trilogy and while I did not love books 2 and 3, I ADORED book 1 so so much and I’ll definitely need to check out more by this author.
Angie Hockman
I only read Shipped by Angie Hockman this year, but I highly enjoyed this rom-com and am looking forward to more.
K.A. Tucker
I’m late to the K.A. Tuckers and The Simple Wild train, but they’re all-time favorites now. I love Calla and Jonah and Alaska so much that I’m a little hesitant to try other stories by K.A. Tucker, but I’m sure I’ll love those stories just as much.
Everina Maxwell
Winter’s Orbit was Everina’s debut and I highly enjoyed it. Her next book, Ocean’s Echo, will take place in the same world, so I’m already eager to dive in!
Rosie Danan
I binged both The Roommate and The Intimacy Experiment this year and LOVED both!
F.T. Lukens
In Deeper Waters was such a fun and feel-good fantasy romance so I hope to experience more stories by F.T. Lukens in 2022. I’m already super excited for So This Is Ever After.
Raven Kennedy
I read 7 books by Raven Kennedy this year, so I think it’s safe to say she’s my number one new-to-me author from 2021. I LOVED her Plated Prisoner series (check out my review of the series so far) as well as her hilarious Heart Hassle series (check out my review of the series here)
Katee Robert
I dipped my toe into the world of dark romance this year with Katee Robert’s Neon Gods, a Hades/Persephone retelling, and really enjoyed it. I’m already excited for the next book in this world called Electric Idol and then perhaps I’ll try some more Katee Robert dark romance books.
Axie Oh
As a kpop and kdrama fan, Axie Oh’s XOXO hit all the right spots. And her upcoming book, The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea, also sounds so amazing already.
Alison Cochrun
The Charm Offensive is one of my favorite reads of 2021! I loved the story of Dev and Charlie and will definitely be keeping an eye on anything this author releases in the future.
Ali Hazelwood
You couldn’t escape the hype that was The Love Hypothesis in 2021, and yet the hype was so very well deserved! I loved it so much.
Ooooh maybe half of them is on my list, but havent gotten to them yet— in happy you e enjoyed their writings!
Hope you’ll enjoy them when you get to them 🙂
Winter’s Orbit was so good. And I read The Love Hypothesis last week and I loved it!
Winter’s Orbit was indeed so good, I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series!
I want to read The Love Hypothesis so much! I haven’t read any of the authors you listed. It looks like I have some exploring to do.
Hope you’ll love The Love Hypothesis as much as I did 🙂
The Love Hypothesis got so much hype last year, and tp be fair most comments have been that it lived up to it! It is still on my tbr but I need to be in the right mood for romance.
These are my new-to-me authors from last year.
I hope you’ll enjoy The Love Hypothesis when you get to it, and that it’ll live up to the hype for you too 🙂
I discovered Raven Kennedy and Ali Hazelwood too!
They’re probably my 2 favorite discoveries of 2021 🙂
Laura Thalassa is new to me as well. So far, I’ve read two of her books but I absolutely loved them!!
A lot of her books are on my TBR, I definitely hope to read more by her in 2022 🙂
I don’t know any of these! But I do have The Love Hypothesis on my Kindle. Need to get to it somewhere this year.
Happy TTT!
Elza Reads
Oh, hope you’ll enjoy The Love Hypothesis if you decide to give it a try!
Looks like most (or maybe all) of your authors are female. Well done.
My TTT this week.
Oh yes now that you mention it, that’s so true 🙂
I’m so curious about The Love Hypothesis. I’m glad you liked it.

That cover for the Raven Kennedy book looks so intriguing! I’ll definitely check out your review of the series!
That series indeed has some beautiful covers! Hope you’ll enjoy if you decide to try it out 🙂
Hazelwood and Robert made it on my list today, too! Reckon I’d read anything by both of them, esp Hazelwood! 😂 I can’t wait to read so many of these titles this year and I’m hoping they’ll become favourite new-to-me authors in 2022!
Hazelwood was definitely one of the highlights of 2021, very excited about what’s next for her 🙂
I just read So This Is Ever After (earlier this month). I really enjoyed it.
So glad to hear you enjoyed it, I’m really looking forward to reading that book!
Thank you! I hope you like it!
I adore K.A. Tucker and consider her a favorite. And Laura Thalassa is one that I’ve been meaning to try for ages!
I do want to try more K.A. Tucker for sure!
Tucker, Danan, Hazelwood, and Roberts are all ones I’ve read and amazing authors to have found! I hope you enjoy more of their stuff this year.
Thanks! I’m definitely hoping to explore some of their backlist works where possible 🙂
I really enjoyed Winter’s Orbit.

Thanks, they definitely deserve all the great things told about them in my view 🙂
Evalina Maxwell’s Winter’s Orbit has showed up on several people’s lists today. I think I will bump it higher up my TBR list!
I’d definitely recommend it! Hope you’ll enjoy if you decide to give it a try.
The next part in the Simple Wild series just came out, I’m very excited to read that. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/2021-reading-year-in-review/
Me too, I hope to be able to dive in soon!
The cover to Gild is gorgeous! Yay for Charm Offensive! I loved that book so much. I look forward to reaidng more by Cochrun. Ali Hazelwood and Katee Robert are both authors I want to try. Thank you for sharing!
Gild indeed has such a gorgeous cover! The Charm Offensive is definitely one of my favorite reads of the year, I love it so much.
I read The Roommate and enjoyed it a lot too! Almost made it to my list but it was so hard to chose. And completely forgot about The Love Hypothesis until I saw it here and on some other lists, oops!
Haha yes I totally understand, but it’s a good thing that there were so many great reads last year that not all of them made it on our lists 🙂
I’ve heard many good things about The Simple Wild!
The Alaska setting in that one is definitely so much fun to read about!
Raven Kennedy is on my list too – I binged The Plated Prisoner series so fast!! lol
Me too, that’s such an amazing series and can’t wait for the next installment!
Yay to KA Tucker! Love the Simple Wild series.
It’s such an amazing series indeed, one of my faves!
K. A. Tucker is a favorite of mine too. I didn’t discover her until late in 2020 so we were both pretty late to the party, lol.
Haha, happy to hear I’m not the only one 😉 But the good thing is that we now have a huge backlist to discover!
Yay The Love Hypothesis! I loved it, too. 🙂 Shipped didn’t work as well for me, but I did love the setting! It was a fun read. Thanks for participating in TTT!
The Love Hypothesis was indeed such a great read! Sorry to hear Shipped didn’t work for you, but you’re right that the setting was indeed a lot of fun 🙂
