Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we’re talking about the books on our winter 2022-2023 to-read list.
As usual for my winter TBR’s, I’m focusing on a mix of new releases, re-reads and backlist books.
And also as usual, I want to state that I’m a major mood reader and that means this is in no way a fixed list – more like guidelines for my winter reading 🙂 Let’s dive in!
6 New Releases
Well Traveled (Well Met #4) by Jen DeLuca
Release date: December 6th 2022
I will never have enough of this little renaissance faire series.
Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales
Release date: December 6th 2022
“A girl enters a reality dating competition to get revenge on her cheating, royal-adjacent ex-boyfriend, and ends up falling for another girl on the show—in fact, the girl he cheated on her with.” YES, PLEASE!
The Stolen Heir: A Novel of Elfhame by Holly Black
Release date: January 3rd 2023
I loved the Cruel Prince trilogy so of course I’m super excited to go back to Elfhame!
Hell Bent (Alex Stern #2) by Leigh Bardugo
Release date: January 10th 2023
I’m not exactly a fan of the cover, but I am super excited for the release of the sequel to Ninth House (aka one of my all-time favorites)! Bring on the Alex, Dawes and Darlington epicness <3
Mysteries of Thorn Manor (Sorcery of Thorns # 1.5) by Margaret Rogerson
Release date: January 17th 2023
Sorcery of Thorns is one of my favorite stories, so of course I’m super excited we’re getting a sequel novella. Also tremendously happy that Margaret described it as “a cozy, romantic comfort read” which sounds PERFECT to me!
Radiant Sin (Dark Olympus #4) by Katee Robert
Release date: February 7th 2023
This dark romance series based on Greek mythology has only been getting better and better with each book, so I’m already super curious about this next installment (which is about Apollo and Cassandra)!
3 Re-Reads and 1 Backlist Read
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Of course I’ll be re-reading this in preparation for Hell Bent!
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
Of course I’ll also be re-reading this in preparation for Mysteries of Thorn Manor!
Chase the Dark by Annette Marie
Usually I re-read Annette Marie’s Red Winter trilogy in winter, but I’ve been wanting to re-read the Steel & Stone series as well for a while, and I want to finish the entire series re-read by the time the sequel series Blackfire releases (somewhere in 2023).
Ocean’s Echo by Everina Maxwell
This sci-fi is one of my most anticipated 2022 releases so I want to take my time to enjoy it this winter.
I hope you enjoy Well Traveled. I liked that one.
Thanks, I’m looking forward to Well Traveled!
Margaret’s books are ones I’ve always thought could be interesting. I haven’t read any yet though. Happy winter TBR reading!! 🙂
I’ve enjoyed Margaret Rogerson’s books so far so hope you’ll love them to if you decide to give them a try!
Looking forward to the book by Sophie Gonzales. I’m a mood reader too though, so don’t know when I’ll get to it 😊.
Haha I know the feeling 🙂 Hope we’ll both enjoy Never Ever Getting Back Together, whenever we may get to it 😀
I’ve not read any Leigh Bardugo books. I need to rectify that. Enjoy your choices!
My Winter Reading List
I hope you’ll enjoy Leigh Bardugo’s books if you decide to give them a try!
Mysteries of Thorn Manor and Hell Bent are on my list too! And you know what? I’ll reread Sorcery of Thorns and Ninth House too!
I’m currently re-reading Ninth House and loving it 🙂 Enjoy your re-reads too, Sophie!
I haven’t read Ninth House yet but I am definitely considering giving that one a try in 2023 and picking up the sequel if I like it. I just rarely pick up series. Hope you enjoy all of these books when you get to them!

I LOVED Ninth House so hope you will too if you decide to give it a try!
Hell Bent was first to go on my list, it’s been too long, I must know what happens to Darlington!
Exactly, the wait has been so long and I need Darlington to be okay somehow.
I hope you enjoy reading each of these when the mood strikes!

Re-reading can be so much fun!
I hope you love them all! I’m tempted to pick up Ninth House. I’ve heard good things about it.
Ninth House is one of my favorite reads, so I’d definitely recommend it! Hope you’ll enjoy if you decide to give it a try.
Lots of big names up there! Hope you love all of these!
Thanks!
I hope you enjoy all of these!
Thanks!
You’re welcome.
Excellent list! I have a few of these on my TBR, too!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Great, hope we’ll both enjoy those reads when we get to them!
I’m the same way- I read totally based on my mood! I’ve been meaning to read Holly Black for a while. Maybe this new year will be the year I do ha! 🙂
Hope you’ll enjoy Holly Black when you do!
The Stolen Heir and Mysteries of Thorn Manor are two that I’m looking forward to! I hope you enjoy all of these. 🙂
Thanks! Hope we’ll both enjoy The Stolen Heir and Mysteries of Thorn Manor!
I did pretty good this year working on reading what I own and reading from my backlist…but what I own kept growing, LOL. I need to do better with balance in 2023. I hope you enjoy these when/if you get to them!
Haha I completely understand! Let’s hope we’ll find the balance in 2023 🙂
I really need to re-read Ninth House too. I can barely remember it, haha.
I’m re-reading Ninth House now and I also forgot so much haha. Super excited for Hell Bent now though!
These all look excellent! You reminded me about The Stolen Heir I can’t believe I almost forgot about it I’m so excited for it! You’re right about the cover for Hell Bent, I’m not a big fan either but I’m hoping to check out this series soon!
Hope we’ll both love The Stolen Heir and Hell Bent!
