2023 Debut Books I’m Excited About

20230207 2023 Debut books

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we’re highlighting the 2023 debut books we’re looking forward to reading and I must admit…. I struggled with this topic. Turns out I have a tendency to go with authors I’ve read other books from already or who already have a backlist of books, not debut authors. I only came up with seven authors relesing their debut book in 2023, but these seven do all look intriguing to me! And who knows, after browsing my fellow bloggers’ posts on this topic, I’ll probably have a ton of new books to add to my TBR!

So let’s dive into my selection for today:

The Love Match by Priyanka Taslim

Release date: 3 January 2023

“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before meets Pride and Prejudice in this delightful and heartfelt rom-com about a Bangladeshi American teen whose meddling mother arranges a match to secure their family’s financial security—just as she’s falling in love with someone else.” Sounds like an adorable read.

Seven Percent of Ro Devereux by Ellen O’Clover

Release date: 17 January 2023

This YA contemporary romance about a girl who developed an app that can match users with their soulmates sounds super adorable and emotional all at the same time – my kind of read.

A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating A Demon by Sarah Hawley

Release date: 7 March 2023

A demon and a witch and the fake dating trope. Be still my beating heart.

The Nanny by Lana Ferguson

Release date: 11 April 2023

“A woman discovers the father of the child she is nannying may be her biggest (Only)Fan” Umm, yes please!

Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee

Release date: 16 May 2023

Heartstopper meets Crazy Rich Asians? Fake dating? AND that cover?
Of course I’m looking forward to reading this one!

Something More by Jackie Khalilieh

Release date: 6 June 2023

I fell for the cover first. And then found out it’s about a a Palestinian-Canadian girl trying to hide her autism diagnosis while navigating, and I fell harder.

Forget Me Not by Julie Soto

Release date: 11 July 2023

Honestly, the cover is what drew me in here first. But then the blurb sounds pretty good too: a second-chance romance between a pessimistic wedding planner and a grumpy florist, forced to work together on a high-profile wedding. And also, that cover!
