Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl
Hi everybody and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we’re highlighting our most anticipated books releasing during the second half of 2023. Without further ado, let’s dive into my list!
Between Us by Mhairi McFarlane
Release date: August 8, 2023
I’ve loved every single Mhairi McFarlane book I’ve read so far, and I’m excited to try her latest release. I hear it features a complex friend group and delves into gaslighting and I am intrigued.
Cruel Seduction (Dark Olympus #5) by Katee Robert
Release date: August 8, 2023
I’ve enjoyed every book in this Greek mythology retelling / dark romance series so far so ofcourse I’m also excited for book 5, which is said to be “a scorchingly hot modern retelling of Aphrodite and Hephaestus (and Pandora and Adonis).”
New Adult by Timothy Janovsky
Release date: August 15, 2023
“Nolan Baker longs to be “thirty, flirty and thriving” in this charmingly quirky LGBTQIA+ romance that’s one part 13 Going on 30 and one part One Last Stop.” There is not one part of this description that I do not like.
My Roommate Is A Vampire by Jenna Levine
Release date: August 15, 2023
This just seems like the perfect blend of quirky paranormal rom-com story I would adore. Also, I love the retro style of the cover!
Things We Left Behind (Knockemout #3) by Lucy Score
Release date: September 5, 2023
I’ve fallen head over heels in love with the Knockemout series this year (full review rave here) and ever since I read book one, I’ve been eagerly anticipating Sloane and Lucian’s story.
Mage Assassins & Other Misfits (The Guild Codex: Warped #5) by Annette Marie and Rob Jacobsen
Release date: September 8, 2023
I will never not be excited for any new Guild Codex release and I am super eager to be reunited with Kit and Lienna.
The Wake-Up Call by Beth O’Leary
Release date: September 26, 2023
Enemies to lovers by Beth O’Leary. Sign me up, please and thank you.
The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab
Release date: September 26, 2023
I LOVED the Shades of Magic trilogy so I am beyond excited to return to this world. Now the only question is whether or not I’ll get a re-read in before the release date…
Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco
Release date: October 3, 2023
Have I finished (or even started) the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy? Umm, no.
BUT I’m still super excited for this adult standalone novel set in this world. It sounds amazing in every way! (And I still have time to read the other books by October 3rd, I’m sure…)
10 Things That Never Happened by Alexis Hall
Release date: October 17, 2023
As someone who ADORED Boyfriend Material, I’m excited to try a new romance by Alexis Hall.
Do Your Worst by Rosie Danan
Release date: November 14, 2023
I’ve loved Rosie Danan’s contemporary romance books, so I’m eager to see what she’ll do with this supernatural twist. Also, close proximity in a Scottish castle? Yes, please!
The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson
Release date: December 5, 2023
I recently read Lana Ferguson’s debut, The Nanny, and really enjoyed it, so I’m eager to see what she’ll do with this romance featuring wolf shifters who agree to be fake mates.
I’m excited about so so many books. I just did a Most Anticipated Releases post on my blog about all of them, but towards the top of that list is Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree.
Bookshops & Bonedust is a great one, I loved Legends and Lattes!
I adored Legends & Lattes. I’ve read a few cozy fantasy books since, and it inspired me to attempt to write one for Camp NaNoWriMo this month!
That’s such a fun idea, good luck with Camp NaNoWriMo!
Thank you so much!
I’m also looking forward to Do Your Worst and The Fake Mate.
Hope we’ll both love those reads!
It’s fun looking ahead, isn’t it. Unfortunately for me I rarely get to ll the books I want to read. How about you? I’ll be happy if I get to one or two of the books on my list. My TTT list
I’m also not great at reading all the books on my list, but I’ll probably read half at least 🙂
I find that New Adult is Called New Adult very amusing haha.
It definitely is an amusing title though 😀
Thank you for drawing my attention tothe WakeUp Call!
Hope we’ll both love that one!
I have My Roommate is a Vampire and The Wake-Up Call on my TBR. They both sound like they will be fun reads.

The Fragile Threads of Power is on my list too. My Roommate is a Vampire looks fun.
It does! 🙂
I’m curious about My Roommate Is a Vampire, too.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
It does sound like fun!
Noooo I forgot to put Cruel Seduction and Mage Assassins & Other Misfitson my list. For shame!
So many books to look forward to, it’s definitely a good problem to have 😀
Beth keeps releasing novels that look and sound fun. And I continue to NOT read them!! Must remedy this. Hope you enjoy all of these, Lindsey.
Thanks, Rissi!
The Fake Mate looks like it could be a fun read!
It does indeed! 🙂
I want to read Lucy Score’s books. Also, I want to read The Fragile Threads but I want to read Shades of Magic first. I better hurry up lol
Still a few months time 🙂 Hope you’ll love both though!
My Roommate is a Vampire looks fun.
It does 🙂
My Roommate is a Vampire is my kind of book! LOL
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
It does sound so good 🙂
The new one from Alexis Hall is on my list, too. The whole synopsis makes me want to dive right into it. 🙂
It does sound so good indeed!
Do Your Worst sounds like fun! I’m also interested in the new V. E. Schwab, but I need to read the original trilogy first.
I hope you’ll love the original trilogy if you decide to try it!
DO YOUR WORST sounds super fun. I hope you enjoy it and all these others.
Happy TTT!

Thanks!
Vampire looks so fun, and I like the sound of that Greek retelling as well.
They do sound fun indeed!
The Fragile Threads of Power was on my list too, it’s my most anticipated read for the entire year, I can’t wait to go back to the Shades of Magic world. If you don’t think you’ll have time for a reread before release date, can I recommend the readalong videos VE Schwab is doing on YouTube? I’ve just been using them as a recap (you don’t actually have to read along to watch the videos) and they’ve been super helpful in refreshing my memory for all the important plot points, and really fun as well. She’s released all the videos for ADSOM and the first AGOS video went up this past weekend.

I just started my re-read of A Darker Shade of Magic via audio this week and it has been great so far because it turns out I’ve forgotten way more than I thought I had 🙂 But I’ll definitely be checking out those readalong videos as well, thanks for the rec!
No problem! I’ve realised through watching them that so much happened in those books that I’ve completely forgotten about!
I’m looking forward to Between Us and The Wake-Up Call too 🙂
Hope we’ll both love those reads!
