Hi everybody and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we’re highlighting books that provide a much-needed escape. Now, the type of books that can help you escape differs from person to person and even for me it constantly changes depending on my mood. Sometimes I need to escape into a different world entirely and then I choose fantasy. And sometimes I want all the romance and then I choose a romance book.
So in the end, I chose to feature a combination of both for this post and will feature: 10 romantasy books that are the perfect way to escape daily life for a little bit!
And by escape I mean you’ll get so absorbed into these worlds and obsessed with these characters, that you may forget everything else going on around you for a few hours at a time 😉
- The Road of Bones by Demi Winters: a multiple POV viking romantasy
- Quicksilver by Callie Hart: fae and multiple worlds and banter
- Powerless by Lauren Roberts: the prince that hunts the powerless and the powerless girl he falls for
- The Serpent & the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent: a deadly vampire tournament and one human competitor determined to win
- Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros: a war academy for dragon riders
- Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross: pen pal romance and gods and a world at war
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: the classic romantasy 🙂
- Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost: vampire and vampire hunter
- Red Winter by Annette Marie: Japanese mythology and a trickster kitsune
- Belladonna by Adalyn Grace: girl who can’t die and falls for Death himself
Always love seeing Halfway to the Grave. Forever a favorite!
I could also recommend the series Beasts of the Briar by Elizabeth Helen. My current romantasy obsession and escape-provider! 😀
Definitely! I’m thinking a series re-read is probably due very soon 😀
Oh thanks for the rec, I’m checking out Beast of the Briar right now!
So many good ones on here!

Thanks!
I think it’s cool how the Romantasy genre has taken off.
It’s definitely getting a lot of love lately!
Though, at one time, I had a bunch of Sarah’s books on my shelf, I never read any by her. I always had the good intentions to give one a chance, but well… there’s so many others also asking for a chance! 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my website today.
Too many books and not enough time is definitely too relatable 🙂
I like the sound of several of these, and the covers are very striking too! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Thanks!
I am not a fantasy reader but I do enjoy a good romance. Have a great week!
Romance is definitely one of my go-to’s too 🙂
I agree with Fourth Wing and Red Winter! And I need to read Quicksilver everyone is talking about!
Yay for Fourth Wing and Red Winter! Quicksilver was enjoyable despite some issues I had with it but I hope you’ll enjoy it too!
I haven’t read any of these, as fantasy isn’t really my go-to genre.

I hope you’ll love Divine Rivals and The Serpent and the Wings of Night!
I haven’t read any of these, but I do enjoy a good romantasy every once in awhile!
I hope you’ll love any of these you decide to try!
I have read Fourth Wing and I have a few of these on my TBR. I am currently reading the first book in the Kingmaker series by Amanda Bouchet.
Oh I still want to read the Kingmaker series! Hope you’re enjoying it.
I am currently reading Fourth Wing and have a few on my TBR. Hope to become book friends. I am new to the book community. This is my blog: https://www.thebookdesire.com/
Hi and welcome to the book community! I hope you’re loving Fourth Wing!
I love the easiness of books like the Night Huntress books. You can just step in and be instantly sucked in.
So true, that’s definitely one of the series’ biggest benefits!
I’ve only read Fourth Wing and ACOTAR, but they were good!
I’m glad that you loved them!
