“WWW” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Taking On A World of Words.
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new WWW Wednesday! For this post, we’ll be answering three questions (the 3 Ws):
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
I just finished reading Consider Me by Becka Mack as ebook.
This sports romance, about a playboy hockey star who turns over a new leaf when he falls head over heels for Olivia, who wants nothing to with him and his playboy reputation, has been hyped all over so I decided to give it a try… with mixed feelings.
While I loved Carter, I didn’t feel the romance. It’s love at first sight for him and while Olivia wasn’t a bad character, her personality also wasn’t very pronounced other than being short and sassy. So I didn’t get why it was all love at first sight. And then the book also felt overly long and while I normally love some cozy domestic scenes, this one felt like it had too many of them and I got bored of them. Also not a fan of the third act drama.
But I loved the secondary characters so I am wondering whether it’s a good idea for me to read the next books in the series…
I am currently re-reading From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata as audiobook.
I’ve been re-reading audiobooks this summer (as a way to save up some credits) and my latest re-read is this slow-burn ice skating romance. I recently also re-read Dear Aaron (my all-time favorite) and this features the same family so it was a good way for me to stay with these characters just a little bit longer.
I am currently reading Vesselless by Cortney L. Winn in ebook format.
This is a fantasy romance featuring a deadly tournament in which the heiress to the throne teams up with a half-ghost. The only catch: to save his soul and reclaim freedom, he must get her soul by the end of the tournament. I mean, it got me at half-ghost and doomed romance 🙂
Just started so not many thoughts yet, but I’m enjoying this one so far.
As usual, I’m a huge mood reader so who knows what I’ll be reading next? Until the moment I pick up a book, not even me knows. But here are a few possibilities I’m thinking of:
I literally went WHAT after reading your description of Vesselless with “The only catch: to save his soul and reclaim freedom, he must get her soul by the end of the tournament”
Doomed indeed!
Gotta love a good doomed romance (in books) 😀
Vesselless certainly does sound intriguing!
It is really fun so far!
I’ve heard some mixed reviews of From Lukov With Love, so interested to see how you find it! Veselless sounds right up my alley, at least–can’t believe it wasn’t already on my radar!
I liked From Lukov With Love, but it is VERY VERY slow-burn and had some repetitive monologues.
I haven’t gotten much further with Vesselless, but I’m enjoying it so far 🙂
