“WWW” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Taking On A World of Words.
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new WWW Wednesday! For this post, we’ll be answering three questions (the 3 Ws):
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
I just finished reading Reckless (The Powerless Trilogy #2) by Lauren Roberts as audiobook.
Okay, I had mixed feelings about book 1 in this trilogy (namely, I felt the worldbuilding/plot was lacking, but the romance was sublime) so I was a bit hesitant to start book 2.
But, in my opinion, Reckless was perfect. Namely, it focused on what I loved most about Powerless, the romance, and didn’t bother to expand too much on the world or plot. It was character-driven and romance-driven AND I WAS HERE FOR IT.
This was pretty much an entire book of enemies hunting/running from each other while pining for each other. Not everyone’s cup of tea probably, but I was fully in. Did I mention the pining? THE PINING! OMG, THE PINING. The banter, ugh. Full review to come when I can string more coherent words together.
I am currently reading Under Locke by Mariana Zapata as audiobook.
I’m still slowly making my way through Mariana Zapata’s backlist and this time I decided to try her biker romance. I’m not far in yet, but I’m liking it so far, though mostly because I’m liking the main character Iris and her brother Sonny. Dex (the rude boss / big jerk / biker love interest) is currently still grating on my (and Iris’s) nerves, so I’m hoping he’ll be shaping up into love interest material soon enough 🙂
I am currently reading The Wraith King by Juliette Cross as ebook.
Just started this one, so no thoughts yet, but I’m really hoping to love it!
As usual, I’m a huge mood reader so who knows what I’ll be reading next? Until the moment I pick up a book, not even me knows. I also want to end the year with some rereads though, so I might focus on those a bit more in the next few weeks. Anyway, here are a few possibilities I’m thinking of (both new, backlist and rereads):
Lovelight Farms looks like a cute Christmassy romance. I hope you enjoy it.
I read Lovelight Farms last year and ADORED it so this would be a re-read but I’m hoping to still love it just as much 🙂
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on The Wraith King since I’ve been eyeing it for a while. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Unfortunately I wasn’t too in love with The Wraith King… Maybe my expectations were too high, but it was only about a 3-star read for me.
Lovelight Farms is one I hope to pick up next month! I hope you enjoy Songbird and Heart of Stone. It was so good!! Happy reading!
I hope you’ll love Lovelight Farms! I want to pick up Songbird and Heart of Stone ASAP, but I’m also wondering whether I want to do a re-read for Serpent first…
So, Songbird & Heart of Stone barely has anything to do with the previous books. She’s on her own and kind of exploring a whole new world and characters. There’s some mention of things from the previous books, but nothing crazy. I don’t think it’s necessary, but you could always do it for the extra refresher!
Thanks for letting me know! I think I’d do a re-read more for the vibes, but I probably can’t wait that long to dive into Mische’s story so good to know I won’t miss out on too much 🙂
You’re welcome!! I’m sure you will enjoy with whatever route you go. Enjoy Mische’s story!!
I picked up Powerless and Reckless a couple of months ago and haven’t read them yet, but I feel like I should move them higher up on my TBR now. It sounds swoon-worthy!
It’s definitely a swoon-worthy series, I’d definitely recommend it to all swoon-pining-banter-romance lovers 😀
Yay for rereading!
It’s the best 🙂
