Books On My Winter 2024-2025 To-Read List

20241217 Books On My Winter 2024-2025 To-Read List

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we’re talking about our winter TBR and as usual, my winter TBR consists of a mix of upcoming new releases, (recent) backlist books and re-reads. Here we go!

Upcoming Releases

Onyx Storm (The Empyrean #3) by Rebecca Yarros

Release date: 21 January 2025

I loved books 1 and 2 and I need to know what’s next for Violet, Xaden and co!

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

Release date: 4 February 2025

I have loved Ali Hazelwood’s books whether she tackled STEM, chess or vampires. So I’m positive I’ll love divers/swimmers too…

Scythe & Sparrow (The Ruinous Love Trilogy #3) by Brynne Weaver

Release date: 11 February 2025

Butcher and Blackbird was one of my (unexpected) favorite reads of 2024 and I’ve been looking forward to Fionn’s story ever since I got to know him in that book.

First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison

Release date: 11 February 2025

I’ve been loving B.K. Borison’s Lovelight series so I’m definitely looking forward to a new series by her. Plus, a romance between a hopeless romantic single mom and a radio host for a romance hotline who’s fallen out of love with love – doesn’t it sound like so much fun?

Recent Releases I Still Need To Read

The Fiancé Dilemma by Elena Armas (The Long Game #2)

Release date: 30 July 2024

I’ve been enjoying every Elena Armas book I’ve read so far, so I was already going to add this to my TBR. But even if I hadn’t, this would have had me at fake engagement!

The Songbird & The Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent

Release date: 19 November 2024

Carissa Broadbent’s The Serpent and the Wings of Night duology (books 1 and 2 in the Crowns of Nyaxia series) were some of my favorite reads of 2023. So of course I am excited for a new duology, set in the same world. And it features Mische, our favorite sunny vampire, and an exiled necromancer prince? Yes, please!

Under Loch and Key by Lana Ferguson

Release date: 3 December 2024

Well, I’ve never read a Loch Ness shapeshifter monster romance before…
It definitely sounds original and I have faith that Lana Ferguson will make this work!

A Monsoon Rising by Thea Guanzon (The Hurricane Wars #2)

Release date: 10 December 2024

I have to admit I was a bit hesitant and confused about my feelings for book one. But even with mixed feelings, I am still stoked to find out what’s next and I’m hoping the romance and angst will be revved up in book 2.

Re-Reads

I love a good re-read in winter! Though I do tend to get distracted by new releases or backlist books, and there’s also my fickle reading mood, so we’ll see what happens with these. They may not happen this winter, but I am hoping they will (I’ve been wanting to re-read the Throne of Glass series since January, I mean…)

Tell Me:
What’s on your winter TBR? Do you go for mostly new releases, backlist books, or re-reads?

    1. That’s definitely the bookworm struggle 🙂

  3. First-Time Caller is a popular one on the lists today! Deep End also sounds incredible (and gosh, I love that cover) so I just chucked that on my TBR. 🤭 I hope you enjoy all of your reads this season!

    1. Yay, hope Deep End will live up to both our expectations! Thanks!

  4. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

Your first two are on my list as well!

    1. Hope we’ll both love those books, Sophie!

  5. I am always impressed by your ability to keep track of new releases. Books seem to just happen to me and I rarely am aware of when new ones come out.

    1. Thanks! It’s great if they just happen to you though, then it’s more of a surprise 🙂

  6. My daughter’s really excited for Onyx Storm! As for me, I go for a mix of new books, TBR books, and ‘when on earth did I buy THAT’ books.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you.

    1. That seems like a great mix to me 🙂

  7. I’m rereading Fourth Wing as audiobook and will do Iron Flame after. Gotta prepare for the new release!

    1. Yay for a reread! I’ve been wanting to do one too, but I’ll need to hurry up if I still want to finish in time for Onyx Storm 😀

  8. I have not read any of these titles yet, but i hope you love them.

  9. My TBR is 100% backlist, though I do have several ARCs to read in the coming months.
