Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s topic is ‘Books to read during a storm’ and I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to go the atmospheric or the cozy route. So I went with both! I love atmospheric books AND I love cozy books, and which one I will go for will depend on my mood of the moment.
So today, I recommend 5 of my favorite atmospheric books to read during a storm – books that are wrapped up in a big MOOD that wraps itself around you while you read, a feeling that will only become more powerful on a dark and stormy night. AND I also recommend 5 of my favorite cozy books to read during a storm. Books that will still suck you in, but are so much lighter and fun to combat the darkness outside.
Let’s go!
Anytime I see Alicia’s book on a list, I’m reminded that it looks interesting. I like the colors and the title so those combined makes me curious. However I don’t know if I’ve looked up to discover if I’d enjoy or not! May be time to read some Goodreads reviews. 🙂
I love With Love, From Cold World so much (I’m re-reading it right now). I’d definitely recommend it 🙂
I love the Windy City series!
I don’t have a reading preference for such nights, I just go with my current read.

The Windy City series is such a fun series indeed!
I’m an atmospheric kinda reader. I’ve only read Ninth House but it has some of the best atmosphere!
Ninth House is the best! I miss the hell heist crew so much.
I like that you provided both options. I’m more of a cozy reader so I’ll take those.
As a mood reader I like to keep my options open 😀
Phantasma has such a spooky cover!
It does indeed! 🙂
I went for both today as well! The only one I’ve read from your list is Belladonna and that is such a vibe! Perfect for a moody and atmospheric stormy day read! 😍 Great list
Both is a great idea 😀 Belladonna’s indeed a great read for a stormy day!
I think my post will look the same but with some other books! Also I don’t see your post on the WP reader/Jetpack on the phone Lindsey! I saw it because I follow you via mail…
That’s weird, thanks for letting me know Sophie!
I don’t read a lot of fantasy, but a dark and stormy night does seem like a great time to get lost in another world!
That’s definitely the perfect time for that! 🙂
Phantasma? That does not sound very cozy to me. Ha!
I can barely read horror in the middle of the day with the lights on. Thanks for this fun list.
Please drop me a comment. I am trying to figure out if others can get through whatever barriers my provider has placed in our way. And I need the data. Thank you. My books which include snowy scenes
I wouldn’t call Phantasma horror really, it’s more dark paranormal romance, but it’s definitely not cozy either 🙂
I adore the cover of Lovelight.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
It is such a pretty cover indeed!
I think it depends on my mood! I love both types, but cozy as in warm and fuzzy, not cozy mystery.
The Adalynn Grace books sound so good to me. I need to read them. And I want to buy the UK editions too! Lol.
I’ve read two of the books from the atmospheric list (Ninth House and Belladonna), and I have The Road of Bones on my TBR. I keep going back and forth on if I want to read Phantasma (laughing emoji)
The Nightmare Before Kissmas does sound very interesting haha.
I love both Cozy and atmospheric reads on the very rare stormy nights I’ve experienced. Great list!
