February 2025: Monthly Wrap Up

Hi everybody, happy March and welcome to my February wrap up!

My February has been very inconsistent in terms of blogging (more on that below) but despite that I still managed to get some good reading in, so that’s good. Without further ado, let’s just dive into the wrap up:

What I Read

Flawless by Elsie Silver

Despite not really being into cowboy romances, I still loved these characters and this small town setting and the romance and the chemistry and I’ll definitely be picking up the rest of the series.

Rating: 4 stars

Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros (The Empyrean #3)

Despite a confusing (who are all these people again?) and slow start, and some scenes that felt a bit filler, I am still feral over this series and finishing this book has me really hungover. Also, if Ridoc is harmed, I will riot.

Rating: 4,5 stars

First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison

While I think my expectations were a bit too high and I kind of wanted a bit more buildup to the relationship between Lucie and Aiden and a bit more scenes with secondary characters, I still ADORED this book. Once I started this, I just could not put it down. Another solid B.K. Borison romance!

Rating: 4 stars

Scythe and Sparrow by Brynne Weaver (The Ruinous Love Trilogy #3)

Aww, I’m sorry that this trilogy has come to an end, but Scythe and Sparrow was a satisfying ending and Fionn and Rose’s story was everything I wanted it to be. Butcher and Blackbird is still my favorite of the trilogy but this is a close second!

Rating: 4 stars

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

I’ll probably be the unpopular opinion here as most reviews I’ve seen so far have been rave reviews. But this was my least favorite Ali Hazelwood to date. I think it’s because I didn’t like the Penelope drama, nor the powerplay kink and hence couldn’t really get into the romance. Though I do really appreciate how this kink was written, as well as the diving aspect, and I can see why people love it so much, for me it was just an okay read.

Rating: 3 stars

What I Listened To

There’s been sooo much good new music out this month that I loved!

LISA – BORN AGAIN feat. Doja Cat & RAYE

ONE OK ROCK – Tropical Therapy

Dove Cameron – Too Much

What I Watched

I only watched one show this month:

Ghosts (Season 1 + 2)

This is such a fun show! Almost makes me wish I had my own house full of quirky ghosts 🙂 Pete and Flower are my faves so far!

Life Update

February has not been the best month. You may have noticed my blogging has been very inconsistent and I’m sorry for that! The winter blues has still hit me very hard, work has been challenging, I’ve had several migraines and then my 92- year old grandfather has also been admitted to the hospital 3 weeks ago and he’s still there. He had a blatter infection (one that apparently also caused delusions) plus Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (even though he never smoked in his life) and on top of that he took a fall and bruised his ribs. So it’s been a tough couple of weeks. Though he’s not well enough to return home yet (and we’re honestly not sure if he’ll be able to, which is another hard reality to come to terms with), he has improved and has been awake more and eating again. So we’re taking it day by day. But in the meantime, a lot of my free time is spent visiting the hospital, hence the inconsistency in blogging. So please bear with me as I may be inconsistent for a while still.

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THIS MONTH:

  • There have been a few sunny, nice days this month and the days are getting longer, which hopefully means those winter blues will soon be over!
  • Lots of great new book releases this month!

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • The start of spring! I am definitely looking forward to working in the garden again, and seeing the first signs of spring in nature.
  • Catching up on all those February book releases.

How was your February? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in March?

Lindsey xoxo

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandfather, Lindsey. Of course, it’s super understandable with him in hospital that your blogging has taken a toll! I hope that his condition improves in March and he’s able to come home. Do take care of yourself as well! 🌻

It seems like you had a great reading month despite that though and I hope that continues for you through March. I love that LISA song—what a combination these three women make vocally!

    1. Thanks so much, Dini! And yes, that LISA song is soo good!

  2. Sorry to hear about your grandfather – here’s hoping for some improvement soon 🙂

I have to say I think I’m in the minority with Ali Hazelwood – having read The Love Hypothesis, I’ve never been inspired to pick up another one of hers!

    1. Thanks! I’m the opposite, I have read all Ali Hazelwood books so far, and The Love Hypothesis is still my favorite.

  3. I’ve been meaning to read The Ruinous Love Trilogy but haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve purposely not read Onyx Storm since I heard it ended on a pretty massive cliffhanger. I don’t know if I want to do that to myself, lol. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. I hope you’ll love The Ruinous Love Trilogy when you get to it! I totally get wanting to wait to read Onyx Storm to avoid the cliffhanger and that’s definitely a smart move. I just didn’t want to wait because I didn’t trust myself not to get spoiled if I would have waited longer to read it 🙂

  4. I hope your grandfather gets better soon! The inconsistency in blogging is totally understandable, of course.

I finished Onyx Storm on saturday and ugh it was so good. Ridoc definitely needs to be protected. He’s so precious!

    1. Thanks Stephanie! Yes, Ridoc is the best and needs to be protected at all costs 🙂

  5. Keeping your grandpa in my thoughts! Ghosts is one of my favorite shows!

    1. Thanks! I only just discovered Ghosts this month but it’s indeed so fun!

  6. Sorry to hear about your grandfather but good to hear he is doing well.
I need to get my hands on the Brynne Weaver books. I like Ghosts.. it’s cute.

    1. Thanks! I hope you’ll love the Brynne Weaver books.

  7. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

I hope your Grandfather will get better soon! And February has been tiring for me too! Luckily I loved Onyx Storm as much as you did!

    1. Thanks Sophie! I hope March will be better for both of us, though the nice weather is already a good start.

  8. Ghosts is one of my favorite shows. It’s one of the few that actually makes me laugh out loud. I’m sorry you had such a rough February. I hope your grandfather gets out of the hospital soon. Your focus should definitely be on your family right now. I’m also looking forward to Spring!

    1. Ghosts was such a fun show indeed!
