WWW Wednesday Header

“WWW” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Taking On A World of Words.

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new WWW Wednesday! For this post, we’ll be answering three questions (the 3 Ws):

  1. What did you recently finish reading?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Just Finished Reading
The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith

I just finished reading The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith as ebook.

This caught my eye because it was described as Bridgerton meets The Cruel Prince meets The Selection and that’s exactly the perfect description. The story is set in a reimagined 1840s England where a faerie queen rules and grants every citizen one bargain in their lifetime. However, this year, she hosts a competition for the hand of her fae son, Prince Bram.

I read this book in one weekend. It was fun and entertaining and unputdownable. That said, I also felt like it was a bit short and superficial. I often feel the same when I’m watching a movie, like I know what feelings it wants to evoke, but it’s just too short for me to be able to get fully invested in the story and as such I don’t feel it as much, if that makes sense? I loved it, but I would have loved it more if everything was just fleshed out a bit more.

Currently Reading
Mother of Death and Dawn by Carissa Broadbent

I am currently reading Mother of Death & Dawn (The War of the Lost Hearts #3) by Carissa Broadbent as audiobook.

I’ve been enjoying this trilogy so far and finally dove into the final installment. No thoughts yet though as I’m only like two chapters in.

Reading Next

As usual, I’m a huge mood reader so who knows what I’ll be reading next? Until the moment I pick up a book, not even me knows. But here are a few possibilities I’m thinking of:

What are you currently reading?
Have you read any of these books already?

  1. I’m curious about The Rose Bargain now. Even if it wasn’t as fleshed out as you would’ve liked it does sound like a fun read. And sometimes we just need something entertaining, right?

    1. So true! I hope you’ll love The Rose Bargain if you decide to give it a try.

  2. I Got Abducted by Aliens… what a title!

    1. I just finished it and can now say the story was just as weird as the title 😀

  3. I have so many of these on my TBR. I am currently trudging through the Scythe series..

    1. I hope to read the Scythe series too one day, hope you’re enjoying it!
